Truly Transformational
Here, the learning goes deep as students get hands-on experience to create fundamental connections. Through neuron-firing academics, off-campus explorations, and endless opportunities to create, move, lead, and serve, students are expertly guided along their path of self-discovery.
Our Program
Our well-regarded PreK program lays a strong foundation for students’ academic and personal growth. With a student-teacher ratio of 7:1 and specialized instruction in reading, writing, and math, our littlest Cougars experience the perfect balance of guidance and free exploration.
Kindergarten–Grade 5
Lower School students cement their love of learning through programs that tap into their full potential. Students start to learn Spanish, dig deeper into technology, enjoy their first overnight field trip, and so much more.
Grades 6–8
Middle School is major. These years are about growing as teammates, leaders, and people of compassion. Our rigorous academics teach students to ask the tough questions, setting them up for success in high school and beyond.
Building Character
Catalina is a caring community dedicated to nurturing every aspect of every child—social, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual. Compass, our character education program, promotes leadership opportunities, social connections, and service projects. Students are sorted into houses where eighth graders serve as leaders, bringing boys and girls together across the grades to form meaningful relationships.
Our Campus
Learning at Catalina goes far beyond the classroom. Our 36-acre campus is filled with spaces that encourage growth and discovery. Students swim in our pool, learn teamwork in our gym, perfect their moves in our dance studio, perform in our 500-seat theatre, and tinker in our creativity lab.
Exploration
Catalina students go on more than 30 field trips each year. Starting in PreKindergarten, students venture off campus to see their lessons brought to life and to engage with their community. In Grades 4–8, students go on overnight field trips to destinations including Yosemite and Washington, D.C., gaining invaluable life skills that stick.
