At Santa Catalina Lower and Middle School, we are always grateful when students share their culture and traditions with us.
During their religion lesson, second graders took part in a Hanukkah celebration led by one of their classmates. The student and his mother shared the origins and traditions of the eight days of Hanukkah, taught the class how to play dreidel, and topped it all off with jelly donuts and chocolate coins.
It was a wonderful opportunity for students to learn about this important celebration of faith and light.
